I made few phone calls and found out, that it is a great possibility that tubes aren't ok. So there is too much air in engin, and that is whay it is so thursty. A spear part is 33€ a piece, need two. Is that expensive. They don't have it on stock, so it will take 2 weeks. I have time untill March.

Are we talking about the same problem. Is 33€ for piece too much.

More the other way, there is too much fuel put to the air, and the extra fuel does nothing but costing you money.

I do not know, which part they are talking about. The Tube in the carburator? Don't know the exact price, but it should be significantly lower, if you do not order it from yamaha, but the importer for Mikuni carburators. The german and austrian importer is in our linklist.

When your shop guesses about too muich AIR, they might consider replacing the tube between the Carburator and the engine intake. Don't know that price either, but it that is damaged, you probably have to get it from Yamaha directly. But that tube should not lead to high fuel consumption...

BTW: The replacement of the emulsion tubes in the carbs has been documented (in german) by a forum member.

few more phone calls and it seems i'm getting closer and closer.

the tubes, they are talking about are rubber tubes. they provide gas an air to engin.

one garage 33€, one 10€.
this is Balkan dear friends. If you don't know what you want they will make an idiot of you.

Thank you for your help.

Hi again,

That's the second option I mentioned. But I still don't see how these could impact the fuel consumption...

For that I would still recommend to change the carb settings by changing the needle "height". After that you should check your spark plugs, if the engine is running too lean now.

Still it is very hard to diagnose an engine with few words written in a foreign language... good luck anyway!

Hi Lars

A third guy, who knows my bike called me an idiot. he said, that bike is running well, and that consumption with Akrapovic exhaust increas to 7,5l.
But he recommended me to check sparg plugs. If they are Ok, there is no need to be worried.
