Never been there, know it only from some postings in the forum.
For the way back, if you have the tim, take the way left of Gennargentu mountains:
Jerzu, Seui, Seulo, Aritzo, Tonara, Gavoi, Highway back to Olbia. Funny small roads that take time and a lot of wonderful views. But really, everywhere in this area its like this
Back in Olbia drive through the Gallura where ever you want. the smaller the streets, the better.
Between Olbia(east)- Sassari(west) and Sta. Teresa di Gallura (north) you can drive until you're crazy.
Visit Capo testa at Sta. Teresa, Valle della Luna near Tempio Pausania, take a view at the rich peoples boats at Porto Cervo, go to Isola Caprera and Madalen (by ferry from Palau with motobike) and if it is already running, take a tour by train with the "trenino verde" from Palau to Tempio. (deep airbreathe)Try the route at the westcoast from Sta. Teresa to Castelsardo (wonderful coastviews)
You like beaches? try them between Porto san Paolo down to Budoni . It's south of Olbia 15...35km.
Interesting could be a 1-day tour with the ferry to Corsica from Sta. Teresa to try some streets there.
You will not be bored on Sardegna!
Gruß
Oliver
